On this page, we explain how to make a tick-repellent wristband using the cobra knot.
For this knot, you will need 7.5 cm of cord per 1 cm of strap. Here, we are using an adjustable strap of approximately 16 cm and have used three pieces of cord, each 120 cm long. For larger straps, you will naturally need more cord and EM ceramic beads.
For the strap shown below, you will need a total of:
3 x 120 cm paracord type 3
4 x EM ceramic beads
2 x dog paw beads
1 x black cord stopper
Step 1

Tie a knot in your cord and make sure the middle colour is the one on which the EM beads will be placed.
Step 2
Lay your cord out for the first knot and pull it tight.
Step 3
Now lay your cord down like this and pull it tight.
Step 4
Repeat step 2 once more and slide an EM ceramic bead over the middle strand.
Step 5
Lay out your cord and repeat the above steps until you have reached the desired length.
Step 6
This is what it should look like after knotting a section.
Step 6
Once you have finished knotting, make a knot at the end just like the one you started with.
Step 7
Now we’ll start finishing it off. Cut one of the outer threads on both sides close to the knot.
Step 8
Now seal the end of the thread you have just cut so that it does not fray.
Step 8
Now we need to add the beads; these have a small diameter so they sit tightly on the wire. Pull the core wires of the last +-4cm out of the outer sheath
Step 9
Cut the core wires.
Step 10
Slide the cord stopper over the two wires.
Step 11
Now slide the bead over the cord
Step 12
Tie a small knot at the end and seal it; do this for both ends.
Step 13
The bracelet is now completely finished!
