The material is very strong and easy to clean. This makes Biothane an excellent replacement for leather and nylon. The core of Biothane is made of an extremely strong type of nylon (also used for e.g. backpack straps) and a protective plastic layer. This plastic layer is available in different colours. Bitohane is available in various widths. Biothane is available in up to 100 feet (30 metres) in one piece.
